2018 – Week 6 Picks - Jacknife Sports

Last week was another good week for the prognosticators. Travis 10-5 straight up, 9-6 against the spread. Allan and Kyle both went 10-5, 6-9. Their overall season records are stellar. That has got to change at some point.

The calendar has turned to October and we are heading full steam into week 6. Teams are starting to separate themselves from the pack, and wins that are survivor stories end up being character building wins when the season is looked back upon. Wins/losses early in the year look better/worse than at the time depending on how teams have progressed. One loss that will probably always look bad is Virginia Tech losing to Old Dominion. But they have a fantastic shot at redeeming themselves this week against Notre Dame. The Irish basically have to go undefeated to be considered for the Playoff since they don't have a conference championship. LSU travels to Florida that looks tougher now that Florida has won a couple in a row after losing to Kentucky. Speaking of Kentucky, they are up to #13 in the AP poll and have to travel to Texas A&M. That is a tough place to play. Texas takes on Oklahoma that has turned into a matchup of ranked teams now that Texas has won 4 in a row after their annual opening loss to Maryland. Boston College takes on NC State who just jumped into the polls after BC just dropped from the polls. A pretty good week. There are lots of byes now so some scores are going to be quite suppressed the next few weeks.
