2021 – Week 7 Picks - Jacknife Sports

The season is in full swing, and we have a solid weekend of matchups even though 7 of the top 25 teams have a bye this week. It did not seem like Georgia was going to have such an arduous road coming into the season. Another week and another highly ranked team is in their path - this time Kentucky at #11. This will be their 3rd ranked foe in a row, with Florida still to come Halloween weekend. They are the undisputed #1 team at this point of the season. Their defense has been historic and they are winning games in dominating fashion. But that just means they are due for a major upset if this season continues like it has. Cincinnati now has to play from a position of expectations. They were battling and battling to get the respect and the high ranking. Now that they have it, can they not have a let down. Speaking of letdowns, can Iowa keep their eye on the prize and not be thinking too far ahead past Purdue this week? Their schedule the rest of the season sets up so nicely for an undefeated run to the Big 10 championship now that they downed Penn State last week. But again, be cautious.

Some teams are looking for a big bounce back after tough losses last week. Alabama travels to Mississippi State. BYU travels to Baylor. Texas goes home to take on Oklahoma State after a devastating loss to rival Oklahoma. This is one of those games where they say they don't want to get beat twice by Oklahoma. They need to move on and not think about that one. Arkansas hosts Auburn after the Hogs had a barn burner against Ole Miss. And this is the first game for Oregon back in action after their loss to Stanford. That feels so long ago at this point. Another great week!
