2018 – Week 3 Picks - Jacknife Sports

Week 3 is upon us and as it seems every year, this is a week that will be affected by a hurricane. Games have already been moved and canceled. So some of you will probably be missing out on some points. It happens every year. Hope the hurricane is not as devastating as they predict. But there will be other games going on and almost coldly, life goes on in other parts of the country.

Week 2 came through with the tried and true regression to the mean. Math truly is the universal language. Travis had a bit of a lead in the picks after Week 1 while Kyle was lagging behind a tad. Week 2 has the prognosticators bunched up after pretty much a reversal of the first week. Travis went 7-8 straight up, 6-9 against the spread. Allan was 8-7, 7-8. Kyle was 9-6, 9-6. So after two weeks they sit at: Travis (18-12 SU, 16-14 ATS), Allan (18-12 SU, 14-16 ATS), Kyle (17-13 SU, 17-13 ATS).

While Week 2 was a pretty calm week, the picks like to lean towards the side of a little bit of chaos. And that's not a bad strategy based on how the past couple seasons have gone.

Week 3 has a few top 25 matchups as Oklahoma State has entered the rankings. They have a game against Boise State who is now the highest ranked Group of 5 team. Auburn takes on LSU in an early-season SEC west matchup. Ohio State goes to Arlington to take on TCU. It will be the last game the Buckeyes have without Urban Meyer.

Other than that, a lot of teams are starting to wrap up their non-conference schedules before conference play really takes hold of the college football landscape.
